The 2024-25 season marked the third consecutive year of exceptional performance for the global ski industry and as the 2025-26 seasons gets underway, the expectation is for an equally strong season, especially within the French Alps which is shaped by both domestic and international visitors reassured by the consistent conditions, excellent resources and amenities available and unparalleled skiing.

As for property, the French Alps remains on the wish list of many. Globally both scarcity and equity define and influence alpine property markets, and the French Alps are no exception. The latest report from Savills highlights that over the last 20 years, French Ski property has appreciated in value by 197%, reflecting the enduring appeal of the setting which can combine lifestyle appeal with long term capital growth.

The Savills Ski Resilience Index underscores how snowfall reliability, season length, altitude, and temperature remain key to market strength with both Méribel and Courchevel remain consistent across the index historically, underscoring the influence of the setting for those looking to invest or relocate.

The reports prime and ultra prime pricing leagues offer further insight into the locations, with French resorts making up a third of the Ultra-prime price league with Courchevel 1850 a standout address in addition to Méribel chalets and penthouses which are gaining value and traction. Despite such growth it is clear the appeal of Alpine destinations is multifaceted and with both resilience and the future in mind both Courchevel and Méribel are working to improve sustainable initiatives and eco-friendly practices across the resorts especially when encouraging a year-round residents and visitors.
